Head Vet Nurse
Jordan
CVN
Hi I’m Jordan. I’m what you call a lifer, part of the furniture, that vet nurse that is there for your pet’s whole lifespan, that’s 12 years and counting. I began vet nursing after a brief 3 year stint working in the beauty industry – skills that I still use to this day on the odd occasion and something I’m glad I learnt. I began working at Taradale Vet Hospital when I was 24 and have been surrounded by extraordinary talent ever since. Even though I sometimes I say I’ve seen it all – I end up seeing or learning something new every day.
I enjoy all aspects of vet nurse life (mostly – except anal glands) but my favourite is being involved in the surgery and general practice nursing. I enjoy seeing patients and owners I have been able to build a relationship with over the years.
I definitely have a soft spot for geriatric cats
Outside of work, life evolves around my family, a one year old daughter Aspyn, two tabby cats and a Labrador, and my husband Joel who loves to cook low and slow bbq (I love to eat it). We enjoy spending time with family and friends; getting out and about.
I enjoy houseplants that aren’t too needy, learning about photography (always looking for a creative outlet); taking the dog for a walk and of course catching up with friends for a coffee or drink after a busy week.
I feel very lucky to work in a lovely clinic with an awesome bunch of people.
